Legal Training and Landmark Victory
Attorney Ka Bao Jennrich received her legal education from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where she distinguished herself through both academic excellence and impactful advocacy. As a participant in the school’s Criminal and Juvenile Defense Clinic, she provided hands-on legal representation to various clients. In her legal work, she helped secure a significant victory in a case that reached the Minnesota Supreme Court. This case marked a critical turning point in Minnesota jurisprudence, coming on the heels of the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decisions in Miller v. Alabama, Montgomery v. Louisiana, and Jones v. Mississippi. It was the final case of its kind in Minnesota after the Minnesota Legislature enacted major reforms in response to those rulings.
For her exceptional dedication to client advocacy, Ka Bao Jennrich was honored with the prestigious Living the Catholic Mission award from St. Thomas School of Law. She also served as President of the Greater Minnesota Practice Cooperative for two years, where she championed legal practice and access to justice in rural and underserved areas. She furthered legal skills through a clerkship at Thooft Law in Eagan, Minnesota, where she gained broad experience across a range of legal issues. She also served as a public defender with the 10th District Public Defender’s Office, deepening her commitment to criminal defense and ensuring the rights of the accused were protected.
Today, Attorney Ka Bao Jennrich brings that same dedication, insight, and compassion to every client she serves at Jennrich Law.

Successful Small Business Leadership
In addition to her legal career, Attorney Ka Bao Jennrich brings a strong background in business leadership and operations. She successfully helped managed her family’s multi-million dollar liquor store through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, skillfully navigating supply chain disruptions, evolving health regulations, and economic uncertainty. With her help, the store thrived, becoming extremely successful and ultimately selling at a substantial profit. That successful sale allowed her parents to retire comfortably, a testament to her sharp financial judgment, strategic planning, and dedication.
Ka Bao Jennrich also served as manager, accounting, and human resources for a construction-demolition company. In these roles, she was responsible for scheduling, tracking expenses, creating financial documents, budgeting, payroll, and compliance. She also successfully navigated the complex PPP loan process through the SBA, securing critical funding that helped the business stay afloat and retain employees during the economic uncertainty of the pandemic.
These experiences give her a deep, practical understanding of the financial and regulatory challenges that businesses face. Combined with her legal training, this makes her a uniquely effective advocate for entrepreneurs, contractors, developers, homeowners, and small business owners who need a lawyer who knows both the law and the realities of running a business.
Powering the Youth through Legal Education
Attorney Ka Bao Jennrich also brought her legal skills into the classroom, teaching Business Law at Rush City High School. Passionate about education, she introduced high school students to core legal principles and taught them how to craft persuasive legal arguments. The cap stone project in the course was a mock oral argument held at the Kanabec County Courthouse, presided by an attorney, where students represented fictitious businesses in a simulated legal dispute. They argued for and against a preliminary injunction, gaining firsthand experience in litigation strategy and courtroom procedure. Through this hands-on learning experience, Jennrich helped students build confidence, critical thinking, and advocacy skills—planting the seeds for the next generation of legal minds.
